The post 25-Cent Clearance Event Starts Today at Dollar Tree With Lowest Prices of the Year appeared first on Best Life.

]]>
Shoppers know that Dollar Tree is stocked with everything from household essentials to beauty product dupes, all for some of the lowest prices around. But things are about to get even cheaper at the bargain retailer. That’s because the long-awaited Dollar Tree clearance event starts today, bringing the lowest prices of the year to even more items—including some products that cost just 25 cents.

RELATED: The #1 Best Time to Score Deals at T.J. Maxx and Marshalls.

What is the Dollar Tree clearance event?

Most shoppers are accustomed to how much they’re spending on products when they enter a Dollar Tree (even if those prices have been creeping up lately). But if you’ve ever wanted to see how low things can go, you might want to make time to swing by this week as the retailer slashes prices to absurdly low levels.

In a TikTok video posted on Dec. 15, user @_katoa05 ran to their local store and explained that Dollar Tree is hosting another week of a major clearance event. Each week brings a new set of items down to just 25 cents. “When I tell you there’s so much out there, there’s so much,” she wrote on the caption.

In the clip, she points out finding pillow cases, collapsible storage boxes, body wash, shower gloves, press-on nails, antibacterial wipes, a fake security camera, party plates, candy, and more—all for just a quarter each.

@_katoa5

In a separate video, TikToker @oneasianchic showed off the finds at her local store. They include 25-cent napkins, gift card holders, Juneteenth party supplies, pencils, a wide range of toys, gel pens, and energy drinks. She even came across interesting items like fake security cameras, special additives that can turn your fireplace flame different colors, and scented candles.

Be sure to check which items are actually on sale.

It’s exciting to get caught up in all the savings, but you’ll want to triple-check before heading to the register. In her video, @_katoa05 explains that even similar-looking items were not all ringing up for 25 cents.

She uses the example of five different Rice Krispies socks she found on the shelf, three of which rang up for a quarter at checkout, and two which were still priced at $1.50.

Things get even more confusing down the sock aisle, where a pair of identical fuzzy socks rings up at $0.25 and $1.50, with the only difference being their physical price tags. She pointed out that the pair of socks with a longer price tag appeared to be the one that rang up as the sale price, while the shorter of the two rang up full price.

But that’s not the only pricing difference some shoppers have noticed. One shopper posted a TikTok video in which she found some items for just a penny!

Want an easier way to know when you’re saving? Fortunately, there’s an easy fix, and it just involves using your phone.

“Always the Dollar Tree app or in-store scanner to check prices,” @_katoa05 suggests.

And if you’re willing to put in a little legwork, it could end up paying off. “For me, personally, it’s been worth it to go to different Dollar Trees because I’ve been able to find items at one store that I didn’t find at the other,” they explain.

Even though Thanksgiving is well in the rear view mirror by now, there have still been plenty of unofficial holidays in the form of Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and now Travel Tuesday. The annual event provides some of the very best deals on getaways, stays, flights, and more. For those who’ve been dreaming of a relaxing vacation or the opportunity to explore a new corner of the globe, it’s the perfect excuse to get something on the calendar and start putting together your packing list. If you’re already feeling the wanderlust rising inside you, here are some of the best Travel Tuesday deals we’ve found that you should book right now.

1 | A flight on Air New Zealand

Whether you’re looking for unmatched natural beauty or a little taste of summer when things back home are as cold as they get, wintertime presents a special opportunity to make your way to New Zealand. This year, you can do it for less, thanks to a deal from Air New Zealand.

Through the end of the day on Dec. 2, the airline is offering deeply discounted airfare on its U.S. routes. Rates start as low as $798 for those taking off from Los Angeles to Auckland, but cities like Houston, Honolulu, San Francisco, and New York can still take advantage. Even if you’re not ready to jet off just yet, available dates stretch well through late 2026. Catch you in the Southern Hemisphere, travelers!

2 | A Peruvian vacation

The Ki Room Seaview at Kichic resort

While there’s nothing wrong with a Caribbean beach vacation in the winter, flying a little further can get you those summer vibes you’re looking for. And with a big push for travelers to go “beyond Machu Picchu,” one Peruvian locale is hoping to win over travelers with a seriously sweet deal.

Located on the island of Mancora, KiCHIC is a boutique oceanfront resort offering an enticing Travel Tuesday offer. Guests who book before Dec. 7, 2025, can take $500 off the property’s new 5-night Soul Escape offer, which includes breakfast and dinner nightly, airport transfers, and daily yoga. All you need to do is use the booking code SOUL500, which opens up the deep discount for travel dates from March 1, 2026, through Dec. 31, 2026.

3 | A stay with Best Western Hotels

A Best Western hotel sign

Known as one of the more reliable global hotel chains by regular travelers, Best Western properties can be a saving grace in practically any place you find yourself. Now, you can treat yourself to a trip for a little less.

Now through Dec. 3, guests can receive 20 percent off stays of two or more nights at hundreds of participating BWH Hotels properties across North America. The discount is good towards stays through April 30, 2026, and covers everything from ski weekends to early-spring escapes.

4 | A Northeastern winter getaway

King Suite at Inn at Hastings Park

While it can be nice to jet away from the cold, there’s also something special about embracing winter with a snowy, rustic getaway. This year, you can get nice and cozy in the Northeast with a few beautiful properties, including the legendary Inn at Hastings Park. The 22-room luxury boutique hotel is located in Lexington, Massachusetts (and notably the Boston area’s only Relais & Châteaux property), a quintessential New England town and the birthplace of the American Revolution. You’re welcome, history buffs!

As part of the first-ever Travel Tuesday offering of its kind, the hotel is giving guests 20 percent off by using the code BLACK at checkout. Just be sure to book by Dec. 12, 2025, for travel dates from January through March 2026.

Those looking to stay on the quaint, boutique accommodations train can also consider The Millbrook Inn. The picturesque property is located in the heart of the Hudson Valley and features nine individually designed luxury guest rooms and suites—not to mention the award-winning The Vintage tavern. By using the code TRAVELTUESDAY at booking, travelers can take 30 percent off nightly rates on Sunday through Thursday evenings during January and February 2026.

5 | A Mexican escape

Hoping to head south of the border soon? You could score yourself some luxurious accommodations for less at the Conrad Punta de Mita by taking advantage of their impressive Travel Tuesday offer.

Up until Dec. 15, 2025, guests can take 40 percent off stays of three nights or more in the premier Mexican locale. The best part? Not only do travel dates run from Dec. 1, 2025, through Oct. 31, 2026 (with some blackouts), but those who choose to stay from Jan. 1, 2026, through Feb. 8, 2026, will receive an extra $200 resort credit with their booking.

6 | A wine country adventure

grape vines in front of a castle in california

With harvest behind them and growing season months away, winter can be an ideal time to make your way to wine country. That’s where Calistoga can come in: The truly charming enclave is a true gem of California’s wine scene, mixing some of the most dynamic and approachable producers anywhere in the U.S. with truly relaxing accommodations built around hot springs.

This year, the must-see locale for bottle collectors is offering up its Winter in the Wineries Passport program. The recently revamped $80 passport wil earn visitors $1,000 worth of complimentary one-time tastings at 21 wineries from Dec. 6 through March 1, making it a true steal for Napa Valley.

On top of the incredible tasting deal, you can also score an incredible discount on many of the area’s hotels and spas. And take it from us: Don’t miss that life-changing mud bath at Dr. Wilkinson’s.

7 | A Hawaiian retreat

An aerial view of the Hamakua Hotel

It’s hard to top Hawaii when it comes to natural beauty, and if you’ve been holding off on visiting, now could be a great opportunity to do it for less. The Hamakua Hotel is a boutique hotel and a first-of-its-kind culinary destination on the Big Island’s stunning 50-mile Hamakua Coast. Besides the awe-inspiring views, you can also wow your palate at its celebrated on-site restaurant, which incorporates Hawaiian-inspired touches into French cuisine.

Up through Dec. 2, the all-inclusive hotel is offering 40 percent off a seven-night booking and a two-week booking window from December 2 through 14. Just use the code TRAVELTUESDAY at checkout.

8 | Cheaper flights on a whim

A model plane on top of a pair of passports and boarding passes

Real travelers know that the best trips come together when the timing is right and the inspiration is fresh. Of course, it can also help to have the right tools at your disposal to turn your travel dreams into realities—and for me, one of those has been point.me.

The beyond-helpful service works by helping travelers book flights using their points and miles, often helping turn a daunting and frustrating process into an easy one. For Cyber Monday, the service is offering 40 percent off its point.me Premium membership through Dec. 3 using the code TUESDAY. This brings the cost down from $260 (with a total value of $475) all the way down to just $156, making it the biggest public discount the company has ever offered.

Besides full access to the platform, you’ll also get a free points strategy consultation (valued at $200), a one-on-one session on how to use point.me, unlimited real-time award flight search. Plus, you’ll get award deal alerts and multi-city search to catch rare opportunities, as well as a $100 credit toward the site’s concierge booking services.

Want to pay even less for flights up front? Dollar Flight Club is a travel membership service that can help travelers save up to 90 percent on every flight they book. For today only (Dec. 2), you can score 70 percent off and a free month off a Premium+ membership, taking the cost from $99 to just $29. No code needed! Just sign up and look forward to round-trip flights to places like Hawaii from $161, Paris from $285, Tokyo from $455, Costa Rica from $205, and beyond.

]]>
Fans of Bath & Body Works rarely need an excuse to shop for their favorite fragrances, lotions, and home goods. However, some big promotions are coming up that make a trip to the store nonnegotiable. The most notable event is Bath & Body Works’ Candle Day, which makes it even easier to cross items off your holiday shopping list (and even pick up a little something for yourself). But there are also some other major sales you won’t want to miss out on, either.

RELATED: 10 “Spot-On” Luxury Perfume Dupes You Can Find at Bath & Body Works.

When is Bath & Body Works’ Candle Day?

Bath & Body Works’ Candle Day is almost upon us. The fan-favorite annual event brings the must-have items to their lowest prices of any point in the year. During last year’s event, the store also added dozens of new options to pick from on top of their core offerings—which means even if you don’t already have a favorite fragrance, there might be one waiting for you to discover.

But when can you expect it? In a recent video posted to TikTok, shopping influencer Jamie’s Daily Deals points out that the marquee sale happens every year on the first Saturday in December. For 2025, that means you can mark your calendars for Dec. 6 (which includes going live on the store’s website).

While cautioning that nothing is confirmed, she predicts that 3-wick candles will drop to just $9.95, based on the fact that the same items dropped to $10.95 for a different sale earlier this month, and that $9.95 has historically been the deal the store offers. Since the typical price for these coveted candles is $27.95, this amounts to a potential 65 percent savings on Candle Day.

How can you get the best deals on Candle Day?

Die-hard Bath & Body Works fans might get a bit of a head start. The TikToker explains that the store sometimes opens sale pricing a day early for rewards members (on Dec. 5). However, there’s also another way you can get even better savings just for joining the loyalty program.

“Make sure you’re signed up for the rewards program or start a new account!” she suggests. “When you do, you’ll get a $10 coupon off a $30 purchase, which makes the candles even lower.”

Just don’t get too ambitious! She warns that there is still a 24-candle limit per customer during the sale.

What other sales does Bath & Body Works have coming up?

And that’s not the only thing you can save on in the run-up to the holidays. Over the coming weeks, other shoppers have pointed out that there are plenty of other sales at Bath & Body Works where you can save on other items on the shelves.

In a recent TikTok video, shopping and bodycare influencer @MariaLovesFallOfficial points out that there’s a slew of smaller weekend sales on the horizon. On Nov. 13, she says Bath & Body will have a bodycare sale with items priced at just $4.95, followed by a handsoap sale the following week on Nov. 21, 2025. The retailer will round out the offerings on Black Friday (which is Nov. 28, 2o25) with a “buy three, get three” sales event that’s good across the entire store.

The post Why You Should Never Pay Full Price at Hobby Lobby, Ex-Employee Says appeared first on Best Life.

]]>
While it recently got some heat for price discrepancies, Hobby Lobby is generally recognized as an affordable retailer. But while the store’s price tags on furniture and seasonal decor may seem enticing when you compare them with the likes of Pottery Barn or Anthropologie, a former Hobby Lobby employee says you can still do better. In fact, she cautions that you should never pay full price at the craft retailer. Read on to find out why.

RELATED: 8 Best Things to Buy at Hobby Lobby.

Some seasonal items go on sale right away.

spring sale hobby lobby

In a Jan. 23 TikTok video, @queentayshops, a user who posts shopping and fashion vlogs, explains that she used to work at Hobby Lobby and offers some “insider” info and ways to save money. According to the TikToker, as long as you know the sale schedule, there’s no reason to pay full price for most things at Hobby Lobby.

First and foremost, some seasonal items come in and are immediately marked down, she says. In the video, she pans to a 40-percent-off sale for items in the “Spring Shop.”

“So, 40 percent off—when you see it in the spring, or like fall or anything, it comes in and is immediately marked 40 percent off. This is just an incentive for you to buy things quicker—it’s just like, a scare tactic because they come in and are never, ever sold at this price,” she says in the video, holding up a tag with the full-price amount printed on it.

She then pans to the sale sign and says, “This is literally just marketing.”

RELATED: 8 Warnings to Shoppers From Ex-Hobby Lobby Employees.

There are biweekly sales in several departments.

wall decor sale at hobby lobby

While seasonal items are regularly a steal, planning out when you shop can also help save money at Hobby Lobby. According to @queentayshops, different items go on sale every other week, including wall decor, candles, fabric, flowers, and toys.

“So if you see a mark for full price, leave, come back next week—and when I say next week, I mean the next Monday from you,” she suggests.

Furniture is always on sale.

hobby lobby shopping cart

If you head to Hobby Lobby for furniture, you may have noticed that this department is consistently offering discounts. According to @queentayshops, that’s intentional.

“Furniture is always 30 percent off. That’s that same marketing scare tactic, trying to get you to buy things. You never pay the actual price on the sticker,” she says in the video.

In text overlaying the TikTok, @queentayshops points out that Hobby Lobby “could just put the lower price as the regular price.” However, seeing a sale is more attractive to shoppers, who then feel incentivized to buy while they can “save money.”

“They let you fall for it,” the TikToker writes.

In addition to furniture, she says that throw blankets regularly go up to 75 percent off “because they never sell.” In the video, throws are 50 percent off, along with doormats, pillows, and rugs.

RELATED: 5 Secrets Hobby Lobby Doesn’t Want You to Know.

Certain items are never marked down.

yellow sticker prices at hobby lobby

While you can get most products while they’re on sale, @queentayshops warns that items with yellow and red stickers aren’t ever going to be marked down. (However, it’s worth noting that, from the footage in the video, sticker prices are lower than the original prices on the packaging.)

“Anything with this type of sticker that says, ‘Your Price’ and is yellow—never marked down,” she says. “These will never be discounted in the sales.”

She also points out that some brand sales don’t apply to every product. For example, Master’s Touch has a sale every other week, but products with the yellow sticker aren’t included.

The post 6 Best January Sales You Should Start Planning for Now, Shopping Experts Say appeared first on Best Life.

]]>
If you love to shop sales (and who among us doesn’t?!), then you probably keep your eyes peeled for Black Friday, July 4, Presidents Day, and Prime Day. Those are some of the biggest sales days when retailers discount big-ticket items like televisions, bedroom sets, kitchen electronics, and more. But if you don’t look for discounts at other times of year, you’re missing out. Some of the best and most predictable price drops occur at the start of the new year after stores have made their peak sales during the holiday season. Ahead, retail experts share which stores’ January sales you should start planning for now.

RELATED: Walmart and Target Have a Secret Hiding Spot for Clearance Items.

1
Target

Target Storefront

When you visit your local Target to restock after the holiday, make sure to check out their seasonal sales.

“Depending on when you shop in January, you can look for deep discounts on holiday goods in after-Christmas sales, or pick up new activewear and fitness equipment as part of a ‘new year, new you’ type of event,” says Julie Ramhold, a consumer analyst with the shopping comparison site DealNews.com.

“It’s going to be likely that we see New Year’s themed events around Jan. 1, while bedding and bath could go on sale shortly thereafter or even in mid-month,” she points out. However, you’ll likely start seeing discounts as early as Dec. 26—so get there fast!

2
Walmart

Walmart sign

You’ll also want to keep your eye on Walmart. “They often slash prices across various categories, from electronics and home goods to winter clothing,” says Bhavin Swadas, founder of CouponSaturn. “Keep an eye on exclusive in-store and online deals that kick off as early as the first week of January.”

You’ll especially want to watch Walmart’s rollbacks section, where the store posts items with temporary price reductions. You can currently snag things like toys, hair products, Apple watches, and even mattresses, but expect the January offerings to be different.

3
Costco

MONTREAL, CANADA - AUGUST 25, 2016 : Costco Wholesale store and logo. Costco Wholesale Corporation trading as Costco, is the largest American membership-only warehouse club

Monitor Costco’s ads to make sure you get the best savings.

“The latest ads for Costco are slated to end on Dec. 24 and 25, so another one should be coming out shortly after the start of January,” says Ramhold. “Considering the timing, we can probably expect it to be heavily focused on items related to resolutions, so it may be a good time to pick up things like vitamins and supplements, as well as healthier picks in bulk, like plain rolled oats or protein bars.”

Clothing, boots, and bed and bath could also be discounted. “It’s particularly good for picking up winter clothing when you can still use it, rather than waiting on these items to go to the clearance racks,” Ramhold suggests.

4
T.J. Maxx

close up of tj maxx sign

T.J. Maxx hosts two annual clearance sales, and the winter one last year took place from Dec. 31 to Jan. 15. Experts say you can expect similar timing for this year’s sale.

“The sale is unique because it combines the thrill of their already discounted prices with additional markdowns,” says Swadas. “Shoppers can unearth incredible deals on clothing, home decor, and more.”

The best part? Clearance items at T.J. Maxx are eligible for returns within 30 days, so you can feel confident ordering that pricy winter coat that may or may not be your size.

RELATED: 8 Secrets Bath & Body Works Doesn’t Want You to Know.

5
Bath & Body Works

You needn’t enter the new year without fun bath and body products. Bath & Body Works hosts a semi-annual sale, and the one in winter typically starts in late December (last year, it was the day after Christmas) and lasts four weeks, according to the pros at Coupon Cabin.

The steepest discounts, as much as 75 percent, will be on off-season candles, hand soaps, and lotions. You’ll likely find better deals at the store compared to the website, so it might be worth a trip to your local mall.

6
Ulta

ulta beauty store

You know all those holiday-themed beauty gift sets you love to buy at Ulta? Well, after the holiday, they typically go on sale.

Last year, TikTok user Amanda Bray found a Grande Cosmetics Lash Luggage and Ready Set Jet kit discounted to $48 from $69, and a Too Faced Pumpkin Spice eyeshadow palette marked down to $27 from $54.

The store also hosts an annual January Love Your Skin event, where you’ll find up to 50 percent off skincare products. Their Jumbo Love sale event, which offers discounts on large-sized haircare products, also extends into January.

When I talk about “the most wonderful time of the year,” I’m usually referring to Candle Day at Bath & Body Works. Don’t get me wrong, I love the holidays—but I also love candles, and I’m always delighted to get a good deal. On Candle Day, which should be a holiday in its own right, Bath & Body Works knocks down its beloved three-wicks from their normal price point (between $24.95 and $26.95) to $9.95. That’s why many of us eagerly await this annual sale so we can really stock up.

Candle Day is a bit of a misnomer, as it’s not actually a single day. This year, it runs for the entire weekend, with deals starting today for members—online and in-store—and open to everyone Dec. 2 and 3. Of course, Candle Day veterans will tell you that the best options will sell out, which is why a) you should become a member (it’s free!), and b) you should start making your list now. There are over 100 fragrances available, per a press release sent to Best Life, with 40 Candle Day-exclusive drops.

Those numbers are admittedly overwhelming, which is why I decided to put together a list of some of my faves. While I wasn’t able to test out any of the new scents, there are enough returning favorites for me to recommend. When it comes to what makes a good candle, a lot of it comes down to personal preference. But in an effort to broaden things beyond my tastes, I considered the scent, the throw, and the seasonal appeal (it’s the holidays, after all). This is my personal opinion—and as a true Bath & Body Works candle addict, I believe that carries some weight—but with those more objective characteristics taken into account.

I’ve also made a point to include candles for people of all different preferences—whether you want something sugary sweet or more masculine, something Christmas-y or perfect to use year-round. There’s truly something here for everyone. Read on to discover (in no particular order), my top 21 picks for Bath & Body Works’ Candle Day.

As someone who doesn’t have an actual Christmas tree, I love at least getting the scent. And Tree Farm also includes a hint of spiced apple, which makes it feel more festive than pine alone.

2
Fresh Balsam

Of course, if you’re looking for something more traditional, you can always opt for Fresh Balsam. Sometimes eucalyptus scents can be too strong for me, but this one is really well balanced.

3
Vanilla Bean Noel

A classic! You can’t go wrong with Vanilla Bean Noel—that is, if you’re into sweeter scents. This one’s fragrance notes are listed as “fresh vanilla bean, marshmallow fluff and vanilla cake,” which is an apt description.

4
Pistachio & Toasted Vanilla

If Vanilla Bean Noel sounds a bit too intense for you, you might prefer Pistachio & Toasted Vanilla. I know I do. The scent of pistachio and almond counters the sweetness in a very satisfying way.

5
Spiced Apple Toddy

bath and body works spiced apple toddy candle

You’ll notice a lot of fruit scent overlap in Bath & Body Works’ seasonal candles. But while Spiced Apple Toddy does have apple, plum, and cranberry, it also has a subtly alcoholic twist that elevates it.

6
‘Tis the Season

bath and body works 'tis the season candle

I always light this one right after Thanksgiving, because we all know Christmas starts when Santa shows up at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. I love the way the cedarwood smells with the apple and cinnamon.

7
The Perfect Christmas

8
Bright Christmas Morning

Staying on the Christmas trend, I’m also partial to Bright Christmas Morning, which offers a more unexpected festive mix of apples, berries, and orange. And yes, I make a point to light this one on Christmas morning.

10
Cinnamon Sugared Pecans

As someone who associates the holidays with the smell of street vendors roasting chestnuts, I love bringing any sort of spiced nut scent into my home. This one is heavy on the cinnamon.

11
Champagne Toast

Unlike Cinnamon Sugared Pecan, Champagne Toast doesn’t really smell like its name. But it has become a beloved Bath & Body Works staple, because it has an addictive scent all its own.

15
Palo Santo & Sage

16
Mahogany Teakwood Intense

A woodsier, more masculine scent than I usually go for, but a definite crowd-pleaser. If it’s too much for you, try the non-intense version, which is what I often opt for instead.

17
Sweater Weather

bath and body works sweater weather candle

I’ll admit that I associate Sweater Weather with fall, but it smells so good that it shouldn’t be limited to one season. The cozy vibes of this juniper, sage, and eucalyptus blend are unparalleled.

1. Ninja Foodi 10-in-1 Digital Air Fry Oven Pro

A Ninja Foodi 10-in-1 Digital Air Fry Oven Pro

As one of the biggest kitchen crazes of the past decade, air fryers of all shapes and sizes seem to dominate the market. But if you’re still searching for the right one for your home, you could get a great deal from Costco on a very versatile option.

“The Ninja Foodi 10-in-1 Digital Air Fry Oven Pro is like a cross between an air fryer and a toaster oven,” Julie Ramhold, consumer analyst with DealNews.com, tells Best Life. “It fits nicely on a counter and can even stand up vertically when not in use to take up less space. This appliance is much more versatile than your standard air fryer too, as the flat shape can handle a variety of foods better than the rounder air fryers or machines with pull-out baskets.”

The best part? It’s currently $40 off, so you can get it for $149.99 online—but you may also be able to find it for slightly less in-store at $139.99.

You’re going to use a toothbrush at least twice a day, every single day. Why not take advantage of a great deal to score one of the best models?

“Costco is offering the Oral-B Genius X Electric Toothbrush with AI on sale for $79.99 this Black Friday, down from its original price of $99.99,” says Samantha Landau, consumer expert at TopCashback. “If you have been wanting to upgrade your morning routine, this is a great option. The toothbrush has six brushing modes and comes with a personalized app to maximize brushing efficiency. Plus, with a 4.3 out of five-star rating from customers, this is a great Black Friday deal.”

3. Eureka Stylus Cordless Stick Vacuum

If you’ve been waiting to get your hands on a bonafide Dyson dupe, look no further. Costco is offering a deal on the Eureka Stylus Cordless Stick Vacuum, bringing the already low price down $35 to $134.99.

The versatile product can handle carpets before easily converting into a smaller hand vacuum for tackling messes in the car, complete with a 45-minute run time with each charge and three separate cleaning modes.

As winter temperatures begin to creep in, the idea of getting cozy by a fire becomes all the more enticing. That’s where this Solo Stove Mesa XL 2-Pack could come in handy.

“This is an amazing deal,” says Ramhold. “Solo Stoves have a loyal following because of their sleek designs and smokeless formats. I can personally vouch for them and their ease of care.”

This year, Costco is offering a 2-pack for $129.99 through Dec. 3, which Ramhold considers a great bargain. She says these smaller stoves are perfect for tabletop use, such as creating a backyard s’mores bar or a toasty ambiance when the temperature drops outside.

“You can choose from two different color packs, which come with stands and carrying bags,” Ramhold points out. “They burn wood or pellets, so if you want the classic bonfire vibe without a huge setup to watch, this is an excellent compromise in a smaller package.”

5. CROC Professional Premium Infrared 1.5” Flat Iron

If you’re looking to upgrade your hair game in time for the holidays, there’s one tool you may not want to pass up.

“For all of the beauty lovers out there, Costco is offering the CROC Professional Premium Infrared 1.5″ Flat Iron for $89.99 this Black Friday, which is usually $119.99,” says Landau. “This flat iron has patented infrared technology which adds shine and locks in moisture to the hair.”

And while haircare products can sometimes be a let-down, this one appears to be a bonafide hit. “This is a well-loved product with over 1,000 five-star reviews,” Landau points out. “Customers note the iron’s quick heating speed and its lack of build-up over time from hair products.”

7 Amazon Prime Day Warnings Before You Shop Next Month https://bestlifeonline.com/amazon-prime-day-warnings/ Fri, 29 Sep 2023 11:03:46 +0000 https://bestlifeonline.com/?p=503235 Anyone addicted to getting a good deal knows Amazon can be an excellent resource for...

The post 7 Amazon Prime Day Warnings Before You Shop Next Month appeared first on Best Life.

]]>
Anyone addicted to getting a good deal knows Amazon can be an excellent resource for bargains. But the mega online retailer has also established its own special sales event it now hosts twice each year on Prime Day, with the next one quickly approaching on Oct. 10. At first glance, it can seem like the perfect opportunity to make purchases and score even deeper discounts than usual. However, there are a few things you might want to keep in mind before you start scanning for deals and filling your online shopping cart. Read on for warnings about shopping on Amazon Prime Day next month, according to retail experts.

RELATED: 5 Warnings to Shoppers From Ex-Amazon Delivery Workers.

7 Amazon Prime Day Warnings

1. Beware of price-gouging.

man on amazon website

Catching sight of a double-digit markdown in price can often make it pretty hard to pass up a deal. But experts say some retailers might be generating some artificial savings.

“When shopping Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days, be sure to check to see if you’re actually getting a discount,” says Samantha Landau, consumer expert at TopCashback. “Sometimes, items are price-gouged to look like you’re getting a better deal.”

Fortunately, there’s a way to avoid getting duped. “To spot this dirty marketing trick, check current prices for the product you have your eyes on in the days or weeks before the sale,” Melissa Cid, a consumer savings expert at MySavings.com, tells Best Life.

RELATED: 5 Red Flags About Shopping on Temu, According to Retail Experts.

2. Certain deals are invite-only.

Man looking at Amazon log-in on phone and laptop

Experts point out that certain items will be limited to an invite-only list. “This is a premise that Amazon introduced for Prime Day in July this year, and it can make shopping some of the best deals harder,” cautions Julie Ramhold, consumer analyst with DealNews.com.

She explains that Prime members will have to sign up for these invite-only deals ahead of time and will receive an email during the event letting them know if they qualify to shop the sale or not. Those lucky enough to get access will receive a link to follow through to shop the item at the deal price—and if not, they’ll just receive an email letting them know they weren’t selected.

And you might want to act quickly if you’re hoping to get in on this type of sale. “If these are based on a first-come, first-serve basis, you’ll want to sign up for any that you’re interested in as soon as possible to increase the odds of making the list,” Ramhold says.

RELATED: Dillard’s Clearance Centers Selling Designer Items for as Low as $8.

3. Some deals could be better during other times of the year.

Amazon Packages on Front Porch

Prime Day might be an easy way to score deals, but it’s certainly not the only sales event that stands out on the calendar. And according to Rob Weisberg, president of consumer analytics company Inmar Intelligence, deals can often be better at other times depending on the product.

“Prime Day is known for tech and electronics discounts, but Black Friday and Cyber Monday often offer competitive deals—especially on a wider range of products,” he says. “Some product categories, like clothing and seasonal items, may have better discounts during end-of-season clearance sales.”

Instead of rushing to buy, Weisberg says to consider timing purchases “strategically based on your needs and the typical sales cycles for the products you’re interested in.”

RELATED: Find Amazon’s Biggest Deals of the Day With a Super Simple Hack.

4. Prime Big Deal Days are not Black Friday.

woman shopping online with credit card

Many major sales events try to claim supremacy with their availability of deals. However, it’s important to remember that the number of discounts available on Prime Days still vastly pales compared to other marquee shopping events on the calendar.

“While it’s going to serve as the kickoff to the holiday shopping season, it’s important to note that this is not Black Friday,” says Ramhold. “It might be a sort of preview and have some deals that could return again for Black Friday, but this event won’t replace the big shopping day in November.”

5. Returns can become an issue.

A close up of a cardboard Amazon box on the floor

While we always hope to avoid them, returns can be a concern during major shopping events like Prime Day because the rush to get deals may lead to impulse purchases. That’s why experts suggest using extra caution before you check out.

“It’s essential to understand the return policies of each individual retailer,” Weisberg says. “Review the return window, return shipping costs (if any), and any restocking fees that may apply. Some products like electronics may have specific return policies or restocking fees, so be aware.”

He also cautions when buying from third-party sellers on Amazon, which can be easy to miss in the excitement of landing a deal. “Their return policies can vary even more, so read the fine print,” he says.

RELATED: Walmart and Target Have a Secret Hiding Spot for Clearance Items.

6. Not everything will be on sale.

A young woman sitting on a couch and looking at her phone with a concerned expression on her face

Amazon is famously a site where you can buy practically anything. But when it comes to Prime Day deals, it can help to temper your expectations for savings.

“It’ll be a decently large event, but it still won’t have the same level of products on sale that Black Friday typically has,” says Ramhold. “You should be able to find some solid deals on some items, particularly if you’re looking for Amazon goods and services, but if you’re looking for other brands and products, you might not see the discounts you want just yet.”

Fortunately, a little preparation can also help you limit overbuying. “Before Prime Day begins, make a list of items you genuinely need or have been wanting to purchase,” says Weisberg. “Savvy shoppers should monitor prices of items they intend to purchase before Prime Day to confirm they are indeed getting a good deal.”

RELATED: Costco Sells Super Cheap Lululemon Dupes—Are They Just as Good?

7. The event is Prime-member exclusive.

amazon fake reviews scrolling with packages

Many customers who are infrequent Amazon shoppers might hold off on signing up for Amazon Prime membership, which secures perks like free shipping on orders. But if you’re hoping to score deals on Prime Day, you’ll be forced to pay for the privilege.

“As the name suggests, only Prime members can shop the deals,” says Ramhold. “If you’re one of those people who join Prime for a month to do your holiday shopping or to take advantage of Prime Day deals, then you may have to make a tough choice on whether to sign up for two months this time around or not.”

However, being stuck without access might not be a total dealbreaker. “The truth is that while this event will serve as Amazon’s kickoff to the holiday shopping season, that doesn’t mean you’ll be able to buy everything on your list at the price you want during the Prime Big Deal Days sale,” Ramhold says.

The post Christmas Tree Shops Is Closing All of Its Stores—And Your Gift Cards Expire This Month appeared first on Best Life.

]]>
Over the last few years, the retail apocalypse has claimed many victims. Just this year, we’ve already said goodbye to two beloved stores: Both Bed Bath & Beyond and Tuesday Morning announced they would be going out of business in April, and have since been busy shuttering hundreds of remaining stores. Now, another well-known company is following suit. Christmas Tree Shops recently confirmed that it would also be closing all of its stores soon. Read on to find out more about these closures—and when your gift cards will expire.

Christmas Tree Shops recently filed for bankruptcy.

United States legal documents focused on Chapter 11 Bankruptcy.

The month after Bed Bath & Beyond’s bankruptcy filing, Christmas Tree Shops filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the U.S. District Court of Delaware on May 5. At the time, the discount home-goods retailer was planning to emerge from bankruptcy by August, and only close around 10 underperforming locations, The Wall Street Journal reported.

“This is strictly a financial restructuring,” Marc Salkovitz, Christmas Tree Shops’ co-owner and company chairman, told the newspaper. “Our operations are sound.”

Salkovitz acquired the retail chain from the soon-to-be-defunct Bed Bath & Beyond back in 2020 with his wife, Pam. According to the chairman, one of the main factors in the need for bankruptcy filing was rising consumer prices that negatively impacted Christmas Tree Shops’ core customers.

“When the Ukraine war hit, the inflationary pressures had a massive impact on our consumer,” Salkovitz told the WSJ.

Now, it doesn’t look like Christmas Tree Shops will be making a comeback.

The retailer is now planning to close all of its stores.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, October 19 2017: Christmas Tree Shops Store

As part of its filing, Christmas Tree Shops took out a $45 million bankruptcy loan that included roughly $20 million in fresh capital from its lenders, the WSJ reported. But the loan was recently terminated because the retailer had breached terms amid decreasing sales, according to a June 29 notice filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Delaware.

Now, the retailer has reached an agreement with its stakeholders to close and liquidate all of its remaining stores, according to the WSJ.

“Unfortunately, circumstances have resulted in the plan really not being able to go forward because quite simply, the debtor doesn’t have the time nor the money to go forward with the plan,” Harold Murphy, a lawyer for Christmas Tree Shops, said during a June 29 court hearing.

Going-out-of-business sales are being held at all Christmas Tree Shops stores.

The closure process is already underway, according to Hilco Merchant Resources, LLC, which has been hired to manage Christmas Tree Shops’ liquidation. In a July 7 press release, the business management company announced that closing sales have started at the retailer’s 72 remaining locations across 20 states.

“At the Going Out of Business sales, shoppers can take advantage of discounts up to 50 percent off the lowest ticketed prices throughout the store, with all Christmas and other holiday items being 50 percent off the lowest ticketed prices,” Hilco Merchant Resources stated.

According to the release, home decor, furniture, and gifts, as well as select fixtures, furnishings, and equipment, will also be available for sale at closing Christmas Tree Shops stores during the liquidation event.

“New merchandise will be arriving throughout the sale,” the company added.

Your gift cards will expire this month.

You’ll want to be careful with your purchases right now, as all sales are final during the going-out-of-business process, according to the Hilco Merchant Resources release.

But if you still have a Christmas Tree Shops gift card, you’ll also need to act quickly, as it could go to waste if you don’t buy anything in the coming weeks. A July 6 court document revealed that the chain will be terminating its Gift Card program before the month ends.

Christmas Tree Shops stores “will cease selling and honor gift cards on July 21,” the document states. The chain is also expected to post notices reminding customers about the deadline to use gift cards both in-store and online.

Bed Bath & Beyond Shopper Slams “Scam” Closing Sales: “Dollar Tree Vibes” https://bestlifeonline.com/bed-bath-beyond-closing-sale-scam-news/ Fri, 23 Jun 2023 12:32:54 +0000 https://bestlifeonline.com/?p=484331 It’s never fun to learn that one of our favorite retailers is going out of...

The post Bed Bath & Beyond Shopper Slams “Scam” Closing Sales: “Dollar Tree Vibes” appeared first on Best Life.

]]>
It’s never fun to learn that one of our favorite retailers is going out of business. But when companies choose to close up shop for good, there is at least one thing that shoppers can find some solace in: the closing sales. During the liquidation process, most retailers will start heavily discounting products to get rid of the rest of their inventory—or as much as they can—before they shutter all of their stores. Customers can then walk away with incredible deals they would never have gotten otherwise. But as Bed Bath & Beyond approaches its final goodbye, one shopper is calling out the retailer for what she says are “scam” closing sales. Read on to find out why the company is being accused of “Dollar Tree vibes.”

Bed Bath & Beyond is closing all of its stores.

At the end of April, Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. announced that it had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the U.S. District Court of New Jersey, and would be closing down its entire business as a result.

“We have made the difficult decision to begin winding down our operations,” a notice on the Bed Bath & Beyond website reads.

But before it closes all of its remaining 475 brick-and-mortar locations—which include 360 Bed Bath & Beyond stores and 120 buybuy Baby stores—the company is holding closing sales across the U.S.

“Deep discounts, big savings! Discounts vary by store,” the retailer states in a banner on its website. In an FAQ section on the Bed Bath & Beyond site, it indicates that all of its merchandise is on sale for up to 50 percent off.

“Millions of customers have trusted us through the most important milestones in their lives—from going to college to getting married, settling into a new home to having a baby. Our teams have worked with incredible purpose to support and strengthen our beloved banners, Bed Bath & Beyond and buybuy Baby,” Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. President Sue Grove said in a statement. “We deeply appreciate our associates, customers, partners, and the communities we serve, and we remain steadfastly determined to serve them throughout this process.”

But one shopper says the retailer is “scamming” people with its final sales.

The closing sales are causing quite a commotion on social media, and not all of the attention is positive.

In a TikTok posted on May 24, a shopper named Sunni, who goes by the username @lambbchops, called out Bed Bath & Beyond, and earned more than 81,200 views with her now-viral video.

“I have proof Bed Bath & Beyond is scamming everyone, including me,” she says.

In her TikTok, Sunni explains that she frequently checked Bed Bath & Beyond’s clearance section before they announced that they were going out of business, noting that she has “found some amazing deals” that way. On one of these trips, she found eight-foot tall Christmas trees that were marked down to just $67.50 from an original price of over $200.

“I’m like, that’s a good deal,” she says. “So I sent a picture to my husband.”

They ultimately decided to pass, but happened upon the same Christmas trees after Bed Bath & Beyond announced their closing sales.

“I see the Christmas trees and I’m like, oh, those should be like $20 now. They were $67 a few weeks ago before this sale was announced,” Sunni explains. “So I go up to them and they were $112, and I was like, uh? And that still is half price from what they originally were, but…”

It’s not just that previously cheaper items are now more expensive. In the caption of her original TikTok video, Sunni also accused Bed Bath & Beyond of padding its closing sales with merchandise that wasn’t already in the store.

“Don’t buy into their ‘sales,'” she wrote. “Most of their stuff is junk that is getting shipped in daily that nobody wants.”

Sunni elaborates on these claims in a new TikTok posted June 20, which has also since gone viral with nearly 60,000 views in just two days. In her most recent video, she shows viewers a sign posted outside of her local Bed Bath & Beyond store that reads, “New Merchandise Arriving Daily.”

According to Sunni, some commenters had insisted her claims were not true. But she says the sign informing shoppers about the new products was added on the front doors after she made her original video.

“I did not know I was going to make so many people mad by saying this going-out-of-business sale is a scam,” Sunni says in her June TikTok.

Best Life reached out to Bed Bath & Beyond about these videos and Sunni’s claims, and we will update this story with their response.

Sunni says the sales have “Dollar Tree vibes.”

Sunni notes that she’s not just some random shopper who used to frequent Bed Bath & Beyond’s clearance section.

“You may not know this about me, but I spent over a decade in retail,” she says in her June video. “I started at a store level and then when I eventually left, I was in upper leadership. So I know a little bit about retail.”

According to Sunni, Bed Bath & Beyond is bringing in “random” products into its stores for these sales.

“You can see in the last clip, that’s not normal Bed Bath & Beyond merchandise,” she says, referencing products she filmed in the store, like games, toys, vacuums, and room organizers. “That’s just stuff that they have brought in.”

In the caption of her new TikTok, Sunni also wrote that the closing sale is giving her “Dollar Tree vibes” as a result of the new products.

“I’m sorry. I don’t care if it’s a liquidation company, it’s a scam,” she says. “People need to know that this is not a deal.”

Thanks to Amazon, getting everything you need shipped right to your door has never been easier. And on top of the convenience of buying items with a few taps on your phone screen or clicks of your mouse, the e-commerce giant has also made it possible to find some of the best deals without breaking a sweat. But even regular customers may not be aware that Amazon also has a hidden section filled with overstock items at deep discounts they can easily shop. Read on to see how to access these big bargains.

There’s a section on Amazon filled with overstock items.

Amazon Home Screen

Part of the benefit of shopping in brick-and-mortar stores can be knowing exactly where to look for the best sales and clearance items. But if you’re hoping for the same experience when shopping online, you can still find it on Amazon by heading toward a little-known section of the website that houses all of its deeply discounted overstock products.

“There is indeed an Amazon section full of overstock deals, and while you can navigate to the Amazon Outlet via the retailer’s website and app, you have to know where you’re going,” Katie Roberts, consumer analyst with DealNews.com, tells Best Life.

Here’s where you can find the hidden deal section.

Amazon Deals on Phone Screen

Besides the deals it provides, one of the most surprising parts of Amazon’s overstock page is that it’s essentially hiding in plain sight.

In a video posted in July 2022 that has since received more than 54,000 likes, TikTok user freestufffinder explains that shoppers can access the section on their desktop computer by clicking on the three stacked lines in the top left corner of the Amazon homepage and scrolling down to the “All Programs and Features” option. Then, in the next set of options, scroll down and click “Amazon Outlet” to land on the page.

Anyone using the company’s mobile app can still access the deals with a few taps. First, tap on the three lines located on the bottom right corner of the program’s homepage and then select the “Deals & Savings” section. From there, select “Amazon Outlet” to begin to peruse deals.

If you’re still having trouble locating it, there are other options. “A quicker way to access these offers may be to navigate to the Today’s Deals page from the Amazon homepage and then click on ‘Overstock Deals’ in the horizontal scrolling menu,” Roberts suggests.

Discounts can reach more than 80 percent off.

Once you’ve managed to find the elusive deal section, you can begin to search for what you need. And just like the main shopping areas of the site, experts say you can expect to find a wide range of items, from furniture and cookware to office supplies and fashion—sometimes for much more than half off.

“The Amazon Outlet section offers deals on overstock items in pretty much every category you can imagine, and in the past year, we’ve seen these discounts reach up to 81 percent off,” Roberts says. To make your hunt more manageable, she suggests selecting different categories, price tiers, or discount levels before you begin to bargain browse.

Other Amazon customers shared their success shopping for discounts.

Amazon shoppers who followed the advice of the freestufffinder video sounded off in the comments section about their experiences. And while some complained that they didn’t find the rock-bottom prices they were looking for, others sang its praises—and offered some other tips.

“Just type ‘Amazon Outlet’ in the search bar and it comes up,” one user suggested.

“If you have Prime, they send emails about outlet [deals] all the time,” another pointed out.

Others vouched for the overstock site based on their previous success. “I remember doing this in the first year of middle school and found epic stuff for really cheap,” one commented. And another simply said, “You saved my bank account.”

Shopping at Target on any day of the week can be an easy way to score a great deal. The mega-retailer has become a go-to option for shoppers on a budget thanks to its conveniently wide selection of items that always seem to be at some of the lowest prices around. But if you’re a regular customer, you may have noticed that it’s possible to get some serious bargains if you time your purchases just right. Read on to learn more about the secret sales schedule at Target only die-hard shoppers know about.

There’s a little-known schedule for sales at Target you may not know about.

Even casual customers know that big semi-annual sales or significant markdown events like Black Friday can be some of the best times to save money on purchases. Otherwise, your best bet is to wait until the item you’ve got your eye on goes on clearance—so long as you can get your hands on it before anyone else does.

But according to some die-hard shoppers, it may be possible to hone in on sales at Target thanks to a little-known schedule the retailer uses. The store has been known to move items from specific departments into clearance depending on which weekday it is, per a post from the store-focused blog All Things Target.

Locations allegedly mark down different items on each day of the week.

Depending on what you need, you may want to designate different shopping days to align with Target’s schedule.

The retailer allegedly moves electronics, accessories, kids’ clothing, books, baby, and stationery items onto sales racks on Mondays; women’s clothing, pet products, and groceries on Tuesdays; men’s clothing, health and beauty products, diapers, lawn and garden items, and furniture on Wednesdays; housewares, lingerie, shoes, toys, sporting goods, home decor, and luggage on Thursdays; and cosmetics, jewelry, hardware, and auto-related products on Fridays, according to All Things Target.

From there, the savings can grow over time. Most items start at a 30 percent discount before dropping to 50 percent off, usually two weeks later. If the product is still on hand a couple of weeks after that, it will often get reduced even further to 70 percent off, per All Things Target.

Make sure to visit your local Target to see if your location’s sales schedule is different.

However, the store’s sale schedule comes with a big caveat: As a large chain, there’s a decent chance that your local store may be on a slightly—or even entirely—different schedule for markdowns. Sometimes, it may come down to having enough staff to process the price changes.

“While I myself never worked at Target, I did work at Walmart years ago, and at least for them, I can say markdowns happened whenever we had time to make them; if Target is even somewhat similar, they’re going to be dealing with the same type of situation,” Julie Ramhold, a consumer analyst with DealNews.com, tells Best Life.

Ramhold also reiterates that while a one-size-fits-all sales schedule may seem convenient, it’s likely to be slightly different in your area. “Target stores do tend to make markdowns in select departments Monday through Friday. But as for which departments are done on which days, well, that’ll vary from store to store and be highly dependent on the workforce,” she says. “If a store has a labor shortage in one department, it may be harder for them to get markdowns done.”

However, you can still score some deals if you’re willing to do a little research. “Rather than relying on this schedule that’s being spread as gospel, you’re better off getting familiar with your favorite Target store,” Ramhold suggests. “Even those in the same metro area could have different markdown schedules, so it’s important to pay attention to how your preferred location handles department markdowns.”

Experts say one day of the week is particularly good for deals at Target.

Even if getting to know the secret sale schedule for your local Target seems complicated, there is still one date-related tactic to getting a good discount when you hit the store.

“In general, it’s best to shop Target on Sundays, as that’s when the new ad is released and goes into effect,” Ramhold says. “If there’s an item you’re looking at and waiting on a price drop for, favorite it in the app and watch for notifications related to it.”

“For instance, Target will usually have a notification when something you’ve been looking at has a deal, so keep an eye out for those kinds of things. When a price drops, you can then jump on items that you’re interested in before they have a chance to sell out,” she tells Best Life.

Heading to Walmart can mean a quick trip for necessities or the highlight of your day. Either way, you know that the products are going to be affordable. Whether you’re checking items off of your grocery list, browsing the clothing aisles, or shopping for a new appliance, your purchases will likely not break the bank. But the retailer just announced that it’s getting rid of this one thing in stores that could affect how much you’re spending. Read on to find out what Walmart won’t be doing this year, as of July 12.

Walmart policies are often being adjusted.

walmart app

Walmart has recently announced a number different changes, including the introduction of new augmented reality features for the Walmart app. That’s not the only tech upgrade either. Last month, the retailer set another unprecedented change in motion. Per a June 16 press release, Walmart confirmed that it would be partnering with popular streaming company Roku in an initiative to “make TV streaming the next e-commerce shopping destination.” As a result, customers are able to purchase products directly on Roku, with orders fulfilled by Walmart.

For those who prefer in-store shopping, the retailer announced that it would be launching redesigns of hundred of stores by the end of next year. Remodeling stores is part of an ongoing initiative to attract a broader clientele, particularly in the clothing and home décor departments.

Now, there’s another in-store change on the docket, but this time, shoppers might not be so happy.

Walmart won’t be offering a certain competitive sale.

prime day logo on computer

In years past, Walmart has given shoppers a reason to head to its stores rather than shopping online on Amazon—particularly during a select few days in July.

Since 2015, Amazon has hosted its annual Prime Day event, where deals abound for the e-commerce company’s Prime members. As a competitive measure, larger retailers like Walmart often host sales of their own. But during Amazon’s event this year, which is slated for July 12 and 13, Walmart won’t be offering a competitive sales event, a spokesperson told CNBC.

It might not be bad news after all.

walmart rollbacks

This announcement may sound disappointing, but in reality, shoppers have likely noticed discounts and deals that have already been made available. According to reporting by CNBC, the lack of a simultaneous Prime Day sale is due to the fact that Walmart has already slashed prices. Over the past several weeks, clearance signs have been plentiful in stores, with the Walmart website also highlighting its signature Rollback deals, which typically span up to 90 days.

“You go in stores now, it’s almost like Prime Day in some of these categories,” Rupesh Parikh, senior analyst for Oppenheimer & Co., told CNBC.

Inflation continues to rear its ugly head.

walmart electronics section

Like other retailers, including Target and Gap, Walmart has excess stock that it simply needs to get rid of. According to CNBC, inventory has piled up due to overordering, seasonal items arriving late, and people being more interested in spending money on experiences. The issue is also tied to inflation, with consumers curbing their spending in general thanks to skyrocketing price tags.

In June, CNN reported on this surplus, which prompted retailers to lower prices—especially for big-ticket items—in order to encourage sales. This was a different experience that what customers saw in 2021, when it was harder to score these deals on TVs and furniture. Having expected shoppers to be spending, retailers have been receiving excess inventory from manufacturers with a smaller pool to sell to.

And while you can already take advantage of deals at Walmart, if you were planning to capitalize on competitive Prime Day sales, you still have options. Shoppers can head to Best Buy, which is having a Black Friday in July Sale from July 11 to July 13, or to Macy’s, which began its sale on July 7, set to last through July 13. If you prefer Target, you can also take advantage of the retailers “Deals Days” over the July 11 to July 13 three-day span.
