Release & Replace Old Programming Exercises

Exercise 1:     Identify & Release Old Programming

This exercise is used to identify old, worn out beliefs you have about yourself. In releasing old programming, you make room for the new programming, the new habit. Do this exercise repeatedly to consciously release old labels, beliefs, and programming.

Visualization:

When you are ready, close your eyes and take a nice deep breath and relax. Adjust as needed to increase your comfort. Go to a place in your mind that is calm, healing and tranquil. Take another deep breath.

Now in your mind’s eye visualize, imagine or see a blackboard in front of you. Imagine that written on that blackboard are uncomfortable labels that have been given to you in the past.

You may see appearing on your blackboard words like “lazy”, “incompetent”, “stupid”…

When all the labels are on the blackboard, visualize a chalk eraser and erase those labels from the board…just erase each one…one at a time…and as you erase it, you release it…simply wipe it away…it has no meaning for you now.

And when you feel complete, open your eyes.

Exercise 2:     Replace with New Beliefs

Build your new image, your true image; one that will inspire and motivate you.

Write out three new beliefs, to replace three you released in the previous exercise. Write them in the present tense, starting with “I believe that…”

For example, you might write:

I believe that I deserve success. I believe that I am a good person. I believe that I am in the right place at the right time.

Memorize these new beliefs. Have them handy to replace any old beliefs that automatically surface. When you become aware of a belief that no longer serves you, mentailly label it “old programming”, and replace it with one of your new life enhancing beliefs. Think or say your new belief outloud and repeat it often!
